My name is Brian Fonseca and I’m the creator/owner of the BallRoom blog. I’m a rising senior at Rutgers University majoring in Journalism and Media Studies and I hope to one day be able to earn a living writing about sports, my biggest passion for as long as I could remember.
I’ve gotten a taste of the lifestyle through my work with the Daily Targum, Rutgers’ independent student newspaper, where I was the sports editor of its 148th editorial board. I had the privilege of covering the Rutgers football team in its third season as a member of the Big Ten, where I had the opportunity to travel to Seattle, Columbus, Minneapolis, East Lansing and College Park to do so. It was one of the many brilliant experiences I had at the Targum, where I spent a total of two years and covered men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s lacrosse and women’s track and field before getting onto the football beat.
As made evident by the topic I chose for this blog, I’m also an avid fan of music, more specifically hip-hop. It’s something I’ve grown more in love with since I started delving into it midway through high school.
Through this blog, I’m able to connect those two and share it with you. I hope you enjoy reading half as much as I enjoyed watching, listening and writing.
